Product Updates February 2026

The Product Updates for February 2026 from BankPolicies.com feature the following revised policy template products:

FDIC Advertising Policy Template

Marketing Plan and Program Policy Template

The update to these products is in response to the FDIC’s FIL-3-2026 entitled “Notice of Final Rulemaking on FDIC Official Signs, Advertisement of Membership, False Advertising, Misrepresentation of Insured Status, and Misuse of the FDIC’s Name or Logo” dated 01/22/26 that announced a final rule amending the FDIC Rules and Regulations governing signage requirements for insured depository institutions’ (IDIs’) digital deposit-taking channels and automated teller machines (ATMs) and like devices.

The final rule addresses implementation issues and sources of potential confusion raised since the FDIC’s adoption of signage requirements for digital deposit-taking channels and ATMs in 2023.  The final rule provides additional flexibility to IDIs while also enabling consumers to better understand when they are conducting business with an IDI and when their funds are protected by the FDIC’s deposit insurance coverage.

The final rule sets a compliance date of April 1, 2027.

Information Systems Security Policy Template

The update to these products is in response to the G7 Cyber Expert Group’s “G7 Cyber Expert Group Statement on Advancing a Coordinated Roadmap for the Transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography in the Financial Sector January 2026” dated 01/14/26 that outlines a roadmap to encourage a coordinated approach for migration to quantum-resistant cryptography and transition to cryptographic agility.  This statement does not set guidance or regulatory expectations.  Rather, it is intended to inform and provide context to support migration activities, outline key considerations, and suggest approaches to consider for enabling a timely, secure, and harmonized transition to post-quantum cryptography across the financial sector.
